I know it was said that we were good, but we'd have to be very good to i.d. that part. It looks like body colour, like 1969 Crystal Turquoise if I were to guess. It almost looks like a cover or guard of some sort.
Baffling...

I've worked on a lot of GM cars, I've never seen a part that attaches with a wing nut from GM. Is it the same colour as your car?

Is there a part # on it somewhere?

Different color then my car
I thought it looked like pontiac blue
There was no stamped number on it but I could see remnants of an 8 painted in white.
If its not a Pontiac part I will just scrap it

Looks like something off of a tractor or farming implement to me. Is the metal a heavy gauge?

I presumed it was plastic.

Plastic?

It definitely isn't plastic. Unless old plastic rusts.

I figured it was plastic, just covered with crud.

I did a "reverse image" search on Google. Lots of photos came up similar but no exact match. Most of the closest ones were parts for lawn tractors and farm equipment etc.

Ok well since its not a Pontiac part I will put it in the scrap bin. Thanks everyone for having a look. I just didnt want to get rid of something that someone here might need
I found this in the trunk of my 69 Parisienne but have no clue what its for. Does anyone have any thoughts
