Very interesting. I lived in Ancaster for many years (next to Hamilton). From 1970 to 1974 I used to see in Hamilton a 1970 Pontiac Strato Chief 4-door in that very same orange with CN on the front doors! It had the 350 badges on the front fenders. It rolled on body-coloured wheels with small standard hub caps (dad had a 1970 Biscayne at the time). It did not appear to have the trucks to allow it to run along the railway tracks.

On the picture of the '58, note how the front bumper is extended to accomodate the trucks. Check out the filler sections behind the bumper! I'd like to find out the option number for that. It was likely a COPO or whatever they called it in Canada at the time (it wasn't called COPO in Canada until about '69)

I would like to also know how old that picture is ?  All I ever see on the railroads tracks around here are trucks with the tracks.

Very cool pic...I know I've seen it before somewhere, where'd the pic come from?.

Cam...
On the pre '69 Canadian Copo Cars, my RCMP Biscayne has 'RED TAG' on the Cowl tag and an older retired GM guy told me they were called that in Canada before the Copo desigation started here about '69 just like you mention but I've never heard it from anyone else 'til now?.

That 58 is soooooooo cool!!!

Love to see the Red Tag cowl tag pic. For no other reason than oddities like that seem to be what feeds all us goofball old car addicts!

Definately one neat vehicle. I love those rare oddball vehicles that have survived and/or have been restored. That pic looks recent...looks like it's a museum piece.

All I remember from Quebec are the Putt-Putts they used to ride on!
