Opinions Please

Here is a 73 GTO on eBay, no VIN so we can't tell if it is an Oshawa car. What do you think? Price etc...?  Always interesting to hear.

Very sharp car... it says they have documentation..  I had a sport coupe, and loved it.. They were always considered smog- bumper cars, but are very scarce now..  for that price, its hard to restore one... I vote A+  smile

My Opinion

Sharp car, Been on Ebay a while now, they keep relisting it. If they have a 50% off sale they might sell it. Or is that 75%?

Nice car but may be a little high priced in my ever-so-humble opinion.

Ya I agree with you 69Laurentian, too high imo, just needed someone else to say it so I wasn't agreeing with 65Camino. biggrin
Must be motivated seller as I found another sales ad.

Reading the documentation they posted if its correct this car was an American built car.
2F37L3P286339, means it was built in Pontiac Michigan. No optional engine listed so my guess is Pontiac 350 (blue block), guess that's what the L code is.

Guessing its an "el" and not a "one".

I was thinking an "L" was a 350 Chev, but better check the book before I say too much...

H or K for Chevy 350 in 73. No L in 73 -77 Pontiac A bodies. A GTO would have a T for 400 or Y for 455, the Pontiac 350's were M or N. Checked the listing and the VIN on that car is a T not a 1 or L so it is a 400.

I found the L listed for 77 Pontiac A bodies, but I can't find it listed for 76 and older...........yet!

I'm not ready to give up. I hope you don't mind a friendly debate on this. I AM prepared to lose though!!!

Was the H or K used for 350 4 bbl after 73 that you could find? Or what code did they use for Chev 350 4 bbl in an A body in those years?

Thanks, but not fussy on bumper guards....just kidding! Very nicely optioned too, A/C, Rally Cluster, sport stripe. vinyl top. I seem to remember reading about this car, I think the owner worked hard to get it to one of the National Pontiac shows last year. He did a fanastic job.

I will agree with you on reflection, I think L is the Chev 350 4bbl. I think it should be in 76 & 77 Canadian cars. H was the 305 in '77. I use this chart from one of our American friends that only goes to 1975:

Of course you have the parts "bible" from work so I stand to be corrected if anything I posted is incorrect. Friendly debate is what we live for! smile
