Waldron's Antique Exhaust

Every once in a while you come across a vendor that goes above and beyond the call. Waldron's Antiqe Exhaust is one such vendor. I ordered dual exhaust from them for my Laurentian. I could have taken the car to a local shop but on this car I wanted to do it myself. Carl linked me to their website which showed a correct system for my car. I also liked the fact they accept Paypal as I had a few bucks in my account from selling on Ebay. I ordered the system and a couple of days later I got a phone call from a fellow at Waldrons named Joe. Turns out he is the owner and also a Canadian. Nice to deal with a fellow who has heard of a "Laurentian"! He called to see if I wanted resonators as the factory system had them. We talked further and he asked what I planned to do with the car. I mentioned I'd like to perhaps at some point take the car to the track on a Friday night but primarily the car will be used for cruising. I did mention that at some point a 427 will find it's way between the frame rails. Even though he already had the mufflers made (they make everything there) he said he'd go larger on the pipes (2.5") which he said should handle up to 425hp. That way I'd only have to rework the front pipes if I go big block power. There is no extra charge for the changes. I mentioned I needed the rear frame mounted tailpipe hangers and he thought he had some NOS ones around. I got a call from them at lunch time today- they have them and they are being shipped with my system. They gave me a good price on those. It was refreshing to deal with these folks in a time when a lot of vendors don't give a damn about your needs and would likely charge you an arm and a leg if you request changes after the fact. I suppose the true test will be when I get the system and I find out how well the system fits and looks. I'll report back on how well it goes together (with pics too!)

If the budget had allowed, I would have ordered their "Driver Controlled Mufflers" which have vacuum controls to convert them to straight pipes-similar to the same mufflers offered for a short time on the 70 GTO.

Just like the daily paper, I think we all need a GOOD NEWS "section" We all need someplace to look, and see, that there are "good service" people put there...smile.gif
