I had a 1969 Acadian SS 350-300 HP L48 turbo 350 with a 12 bolt posi 3:08 that was built in Willow Run Michigian. This model Acadian was than imported to Canada. Todd asked this question on another forum which has since been closed. When I purchased the car it was missing the original engine and trans but the 12 bolt was still in it. I sold the car to a friend 4 years ago and he still has it although he has used the diff in a 1970 Camaro. It was then that I learned that the Acadians from 1968-1972 were in fact built in the US. I do not know if they were all US built or only some of them. It would be interesting to find out if any other 68-72 Acadian owners have had their cars documented by George Zappora and can verify where they were built.
Here is a copy of a car built in U.S If they were built in a U.S. GM plant, for sale in Canada, at Pontiac dealers, was the plant a Chevrolet or Pontiac plant?
Carl, Carl, Carl.............. Stirring the pot again!
Not to much butter on my please.
When does the show start????
CARL! put the butter away! its bad for you.. I am sorry I asked the question!! lol I just couldnt resist.. If I touched anyones sore spot ,i'm sorry! really!
So let me get this straight; you are suggesting that an Acadian built in the US. can't be a Pontiac. So is a GM. smallblock built in Mexico not a GM. smallblock ?
I don't know what the Acadians built in U.S. really are.. I think if GM says the small block, from Mexico is a GM, then it is.. I am afraid to say, what I really think about, the products designed, and produced by GM for sale at P------ dealerships... So I will say no more about it.. thanks for your ear.
My 70 was built in Willow Run as well. I think they all were. There were 1272 70 2 doors V8 cars built and it seems like they were mostly built in January of 1970.
Mine is the same, the engine and 4 speed were long gone but the 12 bolt was still there.
