On the net: 58 Parisienne search. Is this person a board member?

In searching for Canadian Pontiac info on the net, I came across this site:

http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/Pontiac/Pontiac1950-1959.html

Scroll down a bit and there's a section where a fellow named Bob Crocker is looking for this green '58 Parisienne that he sold in '62:

It just made me curious as to whether he is a member of this board and whether he ever had any luck finding his old Poncho.  Looks like it was a nice one!

Is there any wonder why Pontaic had such a reputation back then, that is a beauty.

I checked the link and the car was an east end Toronto car. The photo I can say with very good certainty was taken at the R.C Harris Water Filtration plant at the foot of Victoria Park Avenue at Queen Street East. Read all about it:

That is a terrific story, always nice to hear a happy ending. If he is close Todd maybe he can join, he is sure to have great stories about running that 348!

Isn't that one a Bonneville? I've seen it there too. I love how that side spear lights up at night and shines on the rear 1/4's! I wonder if the Canadian models have that feature?

I followed the story on Bob Crocker's 1958 Pontiac since it was published in Old Auto's and written by Bill Sherk. It just goes to show how powerful the "media" really is. Over the past couple of years more and more of the Canadian Pontiacs are appearing at car shows, flea markets and being featured in Old Autos. I am predicting this web site will double in members after this summer season from the word of mouth effect from the members that are here allready. Thanks again Todd for the work you have done setting this site up and adding the pre 58 section.

Indeed, there was a nice black and red Parisienne 348 2x3 that won the cruise nationals a couple of years ago, I believe it was a 4 speed car as well. I was lucky enough to see it at the Thornhill regular weekly cruise one night. I think the owner is in the Durham region not sure if he is a member here....yet.

Hello  Just found your website tonight and yes I was the owner of this 58 pontiac, back in 1960-1963!  Sold it to raise a downpayment on a house!  Bad move, but heck, back then what did a 25 year old know about the future of these fine cars???  No I have not found my car yet, but have had numerous replies and some are very close to the one I am looking for!  In the meantime I have purchased a replacement, which I will send pix and info on later!

To 73 SC  Your observation to my original 58 Pontiac being photographed at the Harris Water Filtration Plant on Queen St @ Victoria Park is 100% correct!  Did you live in that area at one time!  I lived on Bingham Ave during the 50's & 60's!  I have other photots of the car taken on the same day at same location! Will try to post them.  Bob a senior citizen who digs old pontiacs especially 58's

Did and still do live in that area more or less. As a boy every Sunday morning that we did not go to church my Dad took me somewhere to get me out of my Mom's hair. We threw a lot of footballs on the lawn of the filtration plant in the early 60's. I grew up in the Greenwood and Sammon area, not that far really from the plant.

Welcome!  Glad you've found the place.  It's the only source for Canadian Pontiac info as far as I'm concerned.

Your original '58 was a beauty, but your current replacement is no slouch either! smile
