Looking at a 70 Safari located in the Ashdale area. The price is right ($1000) and for that price I'd like to pick it up regardless of the condition (it has lots of good parts or maybe I'll drive it). Is there anyone in the area that would deliver the car to Ingersoll? If so, PM me with a price quote. The car drives, but the owner said it's not worth the risk driving it this far. Thanks Todd
Will do. Owner says the mileage is original and the underneath is very good-no holes. In a way I hope it's not that great or I might feel guilty parting it out. Couldn't of been many of them made. Still has the old plates on it too.
Engine, interior, underneath (differential) would be great! One puzzling thing is the guy said he drove it all last summer, yet it still has the 1973 plates on it...
I appreciate you taking the time to look at it. Todd
73 was the first year that Ontario changed to the letter and alpha plate so those are originals. The little metallic validation sticker was placed on the rear plate each year after even though 73 was stamped on them, so he very well could have driven the car with valid plates last summer. We will see if we get down to have a look.
Todd I'm hurt that you didnt ask me to bring it home with me on my truck when i'm in toronto witch is all the time.send me the adress and name, unless you dont want me to do it for ya(haha)
Brian, I completely forgot about you! That would be great!! PM me your phone number and I'll call you. Let me know what time is best to reach you. Todd
Well, it sounds like someone may be taking the car out from under me dispite the fact the owner said he'd give me first crack. I guess money talks. I offered to Paypal the full amount to the owner but he doesn't have a Paypal account. He sent me an email saying someone was coming today to look at it and he'd "try to hold him off". Riiiight.....

That's just plain wrong. If someone has first crack at it, AND is willing to pay the total amount up front, it should be done deal.
If I have something and two guys have an interest in it, first to ask gets the chance at it, BUT if he is doesn't step up, then he is told that if the second guy shows with cash he will buy it.
A few weeks back I was selling a manual trans pedal, Z bar and linkage setup for a 66 full size Pontiac (US model before you get on me about selling it outside of here!!!) I had a guy say for a week he was going to call me. Kept emailing, bla bla bla but never called. A second guy asked, and I told him to hold on a bit. Guy #1 still hadn't called or emailed back and it was now 10 days later since he last contacted me. I sold Guy #2 the pedals. He paid promptly. I shipped them and sure enough, week later Guy #1 emails ready to make a deal. I replied "sorry but I sold them." Guy #1 understood and was mad only at himself, because he had run short of funds and didn't want to admit it. He thought he'd just hold off till he had cash. If he would have just sent me a note asking me to take a deposit to hold them for a couple of weeks till he paid, he would have had them. I have no problem with doing that.
I think you are not being treated fairly, that's for sure.

Got held up at the office until 1:30 today so plan to go Sunday. 65 Camino saw it Friday but no crawling under etc.. as he was on way home from work, 65 Camino's dad went down today. The verdict is it is rough, a good deal of body rust and rot in the quarters, but it is 38 yrs.old.
