Boy Andrew, I don't want to scare you, but good luck. You will likely have to head to ebay, and you might as well bend over now....

And for the record, the fittings on the back of the pump can are different from truck to car. I think the truck part will work, but if you want authentic, it doesn't cut it.

I don't think that will work. It seems to me it has to be remote for those cars with a big block.

The PS system from the truck will work and should look pretty close to the factory set up. It uses the same bracket, brace, add on pulley and reservoir. The hardest part to find will be the reservoir bracket for 67 only. The reservoir is bolted to an additional bracket that was on the fender/rad saddle. I am pretty sure that the hose from reservoir to pump is 1". The later GM vans used a similar reservoir with a smaller hose and the pump is a lot different.

i'm not that picky that it be original, but it seems i need the remote style to fit my BBC swap! (unless i make all my own brackets which i'm not adverse to doing, i just dont have access to a machine shop since my dad retired!)... i have an original 67 sbc pump w/resevoir... some guys seem to have new case for their remote ones they sell, so i might be able to buy the remote pump case transfer my internals? and i can buy billet brackets and a billet resevoir pump from summit or march... i found someone with a complete orig set-up, including orig. hoses, brackets etc., i've offered $150, so we'll see what happens... i hope he bites...

does anyone know if i buy the stock alternator bracket set up like this one below, that it will fit with headers (or is it made for exh. manifolds?)... i should have paid more attention to bbc motors over the years!hahaha!!

ebay #230245049512, or http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230245049512&rd=1

$150 would be a good price for that if you can get it.

I am thinking that lower alternator bracket may not fit with headers. I think I have one of those brackets, but no header to try it on, sorry.

There are no header clearance issues with the factory PS or the alternator mounting for the BBC.

The lower PS bracket is stamped steel and bolts on the front of the block. There is a small adjusting bracket that bolts to the side of the block.
