Unfortunately neither of my parents are with me. Both died at age 60 which is far too young in my opinion. Today would have been Dad's 68th birthday. He was a great guy who wasn't dealt a fair deal in my opinion. He survived colon cancer at age 30 (with the typical complications to live with after that), had a brain anurism at age 44 which left him paralyzed on his left side and then lung cancer at 60 which took his life. Mom had lung cancer as well three years later. Needless to say I don't drink or smoke. My body doesn't need any help with genes like that! I really miss them both. Todd
I too, was orphaned by the time I was 32. Lost my dad at 11 and my mom at 32. Mother's day is a bit sad for me, but I am happy to celebrate it with my wife, the best mom in the world who gave birth to 2 great kids! In fact, she's such a great mom I plan to leave the swap meet early and rush back home to have lunch with her!!!

She came with me on the auto wrecking trip. It was like a honeymoon! The kids stayed at home. However, we shopped at different malls for the day... I spent more than she did!!!

My mum just spent two weeks here from N.B. She's 78 and a pain, but I try to be the good son, while she is with us...
My wife scored pretty well, our eldest just returned from Argentina and brought her a nice handbag and earrings, The other two put together a basket of beauty and bath products and a pot of gold!! beautiful flowers too.
One thing she got that probably not too many other moms got was a Goat, no not a GTO, a real live goat donated to a family in Ethiopia in her name. You can get these goats and other life sustaining things at Canadian Feed The Children; www.canadianfeedthechildren.ca The program is called Best Gift Ever. We give these sorts of gifts on other special days too and I get a tax reciept!
