Buddy's '67 ragtop

My buddy sent me a picture of his black '67 Beaumont (SD clone) and the '67 Beaumont SD ragtop that was over at his place on the weekend.
The green car was on ebay a couple times, some of you guys must have seen it. My buddy said it's a really nice car and the guy got a good deal on it.

That green car came from South Dakota, right?

I was tempted to go look. It was only a few hundred miles from here. It sure looked like a nice car when it was listed, and I had heard the reserve was low 20's or something like that. Great deal for a nice car, clone or not.

Is there such thing as 'driveway envy?'... nice cars indeed... the green one, if it went for what we heard was very well bought at that price, it looked very nice from the pics online on ebay... not easy to find SD donor cars for trim either!

I think the green one went for $22,000. Originally a 6 cyl., but now a 396.
The SD trim and emblems are available reproduction except the rear wide strips above and below the "Beaumont" script.
My buddy with the black car just bought a '56 Belair project, I offered to buy his car but he's not selling.....

yeah its kinda nice that the emblems and louvres are available... the hard peice now is the one that we can see on both cars... i was pi---ed that it went for $22k, the seller was holding to a high 20s number for a while, i contacted him and had him send me more pics... it'd be hard to justify another car that i dont drive to often, but $22k was a good buy, even though a clone... that black convertible looks really nice too!!

Not sure but I think the green car is a real SD, just a 6 cyl in it originally.
The black one is a custom but my buddy added a BB hood and the emblems and trim. He paid about $20,000 for his car a few years ago, had the paint polished and added the parts (and new top). It's an original 283 pg car, I think it was #6 off the assembly line, first convertible.

the green one is a clone, they never made a 6 cyl sd convert in 67... it was in his ebay description as well... nice car however, looked really straight, would be nice to see it in person...

the green one is documented a red 6 cyl auto 73667 v.i.n. they originally 2 years ago wanted $48,000, I was the back bidder on this car and was offered second chance-I called her to be sure it wasn't fraud but she said it was sold, damn good deal-any decent ragtop is worth that let alone a well done cloned SD-tell Calvin congrats on a great buy !

Cal bought the black one, the other one was a guy from the club who came buy to check out Cal's car.
Cal's black car has had a lot of detailing and Cal did a lot of the work himself. He made a lot of good decisions and the fact the purchase coincided with the production of repro SD parts was lucky timing!

Those are two beautiful cars based on what we can see of them. Was the one car an original 67 Beaumont SD with a 6 cylinder.... Did I read that right?

Would love to hear more about each of them.
