when you mention b-body and Beaumont I bought a wiper switch off e-bay for a Beaumont ($$) and it didnt fit I bought a switch, for a 66 Impala (less $$) and it fits, but operates in reverse Must be for a RHD.. lol
It appears that defogger has been added Ken. I am certain that is a switch from a 67 or newer because of the curved bezel. As far as I have ever seen, the switch for yours should be either square and match the rear speaker switch in style, or it should be knob that hangs down under the dash through a square hole near the park brake release handle.
Thanks for that picture though, it brings back memories of my 66 cars!

Now that you mention it, that's right. I have a 68 defogger setup downstairs and the handle stops short of the bezel. I remember one of my 67's having that part of the handle that sticks up in front of the lettering on the switch.

Howdy guys, I took another look at the option sheet from GM (George Z) and it isn't listed so it must have been added later. You guys are pretty hard to fool. I always wondered why it had a different style than the speaker switch. I've got to look at my 66 parts cars. I think at least one of those had the rear defroster too so I'll have to look at the switch and se what it actually looks like.

Thanks. Sorry I led you astray.

Would you be willing to post your GM documents? Feel free to block out the VIN etc if you like. I have never seen one for a GP as I sold both of mine before I ever knew GM did that.

Hi Carl here is the 2nd page of the GM documentation for my 66 Grande. Everything on the car jives with that. I had to beg the machine shop not to mill off the engine number completely so I would be still be able to demonstrate if I needed to that it was the right one for the car.
Mine had a vinyl roof at one time I think because it has the roof chrome V dividers right behind and below the back glass. I'm not sure because of the two repaints it's had. (Probably just as well given how much they tend to rust under those things) I wonder if the 578 black trim code meant a vinyl roof or just the interior colour? Anybody know?
My 66 isn't for sale. I had mentioned that there was a 67 Grande two door in Fort Mac in a boneyard that looks pretty complete. I'm trying to track down which yard and price and stuff like that. Its a 283 powerglide car, gold with a white bucket interior if I remember right. I'll keep you guys posted on the appropriate forum.
I believe on some cars you could have the molding without it being necessary. Anyone want to confirm of deny that?
Carl, that's twice in 2 nights that you beat me to a question/answer--while I was freakin' posting!!! My typing sucks---gotta take lessons.................
