cheap 66 beaumont seat covers

For starters I am a student - with a student budget who is trying to give my Beaumont the " 'ol college " try type of "restoration".  I need to redo my bench seats - two of them since I have a 4dr.  I have gone to local upholstery shops for prices, but one guy told me some people find deals on pre-fab covers over the internet.  My father tells me that my bench seats are the same as the Chevelle and so my spirits were lifted since Chevelle's are not such rare cars.

I have three questions:

1. Are my beaumont seats the same as the chevelle - and if so, are they the same as the hard top or the convertible chevelle?

2. Am I just better off spending the extra few hundred dollars to get someone to redo my seats in fabric that I can pick myself?

3.  Is there a fabulous website/company that you fellow beaumont lovers can direct me to? - I know that this topic has been brought up before, but remember, I am not looking to have a show car in the near future.

Thank you

The Chevelle and Beaumont seats are physically the same however I don't know if 2dr front bench seat covers will fit the 4 door bench. Buying the material and having it sewn is usually more expensive so it would be nice if you could get pre-made covers. I'm in the midst of re-doing my bench seat interior using pre-sewn covers. If you are somewhat handy and have a helper as well as some hog ring pliers, you should be able to do them yourself. You may need to replace the foam cushion if it's really worn or the new covers will fit loosely.

thank you for the information. I will continue the search for prefabricated covers then. Where did you get your pre-sewn covers? I am confident that my dad and I could install them ourselves. The back bench of my car is shaped differently than the front, so trying to fit a front bench seat cover won't work so well. Is there a difference between the back bench seat of a Chevelle hard top and the convertible? If so, which seat would match my beaumont back bench?

I got mine from NOS reproductions in Komoka Ont. Good quality. They are made by a company called PUI.

I have flat vinyl with a polyester-ish type cloth. Since this isn't the most comfortable thing to sit on, I don't think I'll worry too much if it matches exactly. In the future I may try for a more exact fit, but for now I think I'll check out the pui people. Thanks for the help and advice.
