396 Beaumont remote power steering reservoir

I am not certain this is for a Beaumont/Chevelle big block power steering setup but it looks correct from what I can see. I saw one that sold on ebay that claimed to be for a 67, and it looks the same. However, you be the judge and I am not asking ebay price (The one I saw sold for $49 I think)

I need $20 plus shipping for this. I think that is pretty reasonable. As always, please don't buy it to re-sell for top dollar. I could do that. I would hope to sell it to someone in need of one.

Thanks.

This is the type that was used on the big blocks in A bodies when they were still using short water pumps (68 and older). There was not enough clearance for the regular power steering pump so this eliminated that tall neck that stuck up and interfered.

Are you using the long or short water pump on yours?

This is a correct power steering reservoir for Beaumonts/Chevelles & El Camino Big Block cars in 1968.

Hmmm, welded on brackets. I sure am glad I never say never, because I would have said that the reservoir never had welded brackets till you posted this pic. I always thought they had the strap with 2 nuts like my pictures and then used brackets that attached to that.

Never too old to learn....

I am fairly certain my pic is correct for 67, or.....???

For the record, I never did sell the one in my pics if anyone needs one.

If you have no specific big block brackets Todd, yes, you will need them all.

I used to have the ps stuff. I will check if I still do. I think it's still available from GM. You will also need all the pulleys.

If you want the correct PS pump and brackets they are 69 BB only. The same setup was used on Beaumont, Chevelle, Camaro, Nova and Canadian Pontiac and all Chevrolet full size cars. The upper alternator bracket is 69 only, the lower is shared with 70. The crank pulley (2 groove) is 69 and 70. The water pump, depending on production date can be one of two. The early one is 69 only.
I just sold a complete setup including PS pump, brackets and the pullies to a guy for a 69 Chevelle.

Does anyone happen to have pictures of all the brackets and pulleys he would need? I have a box full off stuff and have parted some 69 and up big blocks.

I believe the Big Block remote reservoir pump was only used on A bodies and Pick-ups.
Camaros and Novas used an integral reservoir. I think full size cars did as well.
