Yes indeed, many use Silver Wheels through Lant Insurance Brokers in Stouffville Ontario. This insurance is meant for the hobbyist so not a good choice if you want to drive to the supermarket or drive to work every day. Premium is about $100 per year on an appraised value up to $5,000 then it goes on a sliding scale.

I think I'm going to try Classic Car Insurance by Whetter, Oaklin Insurance. They had a booth set up at the London Autorama and the rep was a real car guy. He helped initiate the plan and seems to have all the bases covered.
If I'm close on what I think my car will be appraised for, my premiums will be around $125. They also allow for long distance towing (I think 200kms) and will cover spare parts-a smart idea in case your garage goes up in flames.

The website is www.classiccarcoverage.com
Ph# 1-800-590-3269

I've had Silver Wheel as well and they seemed pretty good. Of course, you never really know how good any company is until you have a claim..

I talked to the lady, at the London show, and I liked the fact, I could take the car, up town for milk or ice cream, and not worry about having someone run into me, and I wasnt on the way to a show or testing car...

thanks guys, i have heard of these companies before and they both sound good so i will give them a ring on monday. I have the car appraised for 5000, which is what it was appraised for when i first got it,do you think i should have it appraised again now ? or would that be a fair replacment value?

It never hurts to have the car re-appraised once you have done work to the car.
