I found this site today, it's cool. I have a soft spot for Canadian Pontiacs...not really sure why. I'm partial to B Body cars, so naturally I own one. I have a '65 Catalina 2D Sedan that is being restored.
455 +.030, Muncie 4-speed with bench seat Hurst, 3.42 posi, factory headers, dog dish caps...
I am amazed at how rare some of the stout S/B Chev engined cars and the B/B cars are. Has there been a count of some of the rarer body style/drivetrain combinations compiled? My car is 1 of 9526...yippee. The original drivetrain was nothing...389 2bbl, TH-400, 2.41 peg leg...
Even though this is a Canadian site, I suspect nobody will complain if you show us some Catalina pics!
I checked your location on a map. I can't believe I've never noticed your city before. We've been to the Cities many, many times but not usually your area I guess.
Do they still do the Musclecar Classics show in your corner of the Cities? I've gone to it a couple of times.
Also, to the St Cloud swap meet many times, but it's been a few years now. You guys have a lot of great shows all summer. I'm not a back to the 50's kind of guy though. Most of the street rods (40's and older) are not where my interests lie. Your Catalina is more my style.

Welcome, sweet engine specs. I have a 65 Catalina 2+2, 421, 4bbl, auto, original motor and trans, otherwise, I would be swapping for a 455 myself. No sub for cubes......
Thanks for the welcome wagon. I've attached a few pics of my car at various points while undergoing restoration.
Body work this year. Concurrently the engine is getting assembled. Last will be interior.
Notice I included a part only found on Canadian Pontiacs. Can anyone elaborate a little more about the vac gauge? Did they make in-dash units for other years besides '65? Does it show up in the '65 accessories catalog? Oh yeah, it's going in my car since I have a bench seat. U.S. vac gauges were all console mounted and much larger...quite common too. Standard on every Grand Prix unless you opted for bench seat/column shift.
I was looking at some Pontiac sites to visit other than PY and this was in my list. Apparently, I registered 9 years ago, posted a few times, and never signed back in until now. I see a few guys have 2D Posts like myself. My car still isn't finished, but getting closer. It's at the body shop waiting for paint. In the meantime, I'll post some pics of my U.S. Pontiac parts and stuff.
Do you ever come up to Winnipeg? If so, shoot me a message ahead of time because I live about 3 blocks off the highway that runs from the border to Winnipeg if you come up I-29.
Please keep us updated on your restoration progress.
