Engine Numbers


I have a 61 Parisienne.Can anyone tell me the meaning of the engine numbers.I am quite sure that this is not the original 283.The numbers are 3896944

that casting number comes up as a '67 283/195hp 2bbl

Guy is trying to sell me a  corvette motor   says its a 64 327-300 with camel hump heads   3782461 F0515RD    Any good? or is it a dump truck motor? biggrin

Says it's a Vette block for manual trans and Mortec says "fuelie" heads. Should be good one to have in the corner.

thanks buddy!   I could not get the mortec up     The motor has a recent rebuild, and a 350 HP cam and billet dist..  I bought it...biggrin

Smooth move putting the quick grab on that!

Nasty notes the RD suffix as a '62..

RD = 1962 327 m/t, high perf. 300/4 Vette

Is there a Vin on it too?.
If so it's worth a shot trying to find the car!.
