Carl, do you realize that the 66-67 400 is 442 only and a very rare, unique engine? Is that what you are after, or a later 400 will do?
I did not know that. I had a call from a friend in N.B. who wanted me to go to Detroit, to check out a 67 cutlass 400motor, for sale, complete for 550.. I just though someone, might have a Olds motor sitting.. Didnt know it was scarce... its at U.S. AUTO SUPPLY.COM
Yes, it's unique for 65-67 442. My brother had one for many years, and now my neighbour with the beautiful yellow 67 Beaumont SD396 I've posted pics of also has a 67 442. He is having a major hard time finding engine parts for it. 3 years only, 442 only and the prices are high when he finds stuff. It's even got a different crankshaft in the 4 speed 442's than the automatic 442's.

As far as I recall, none except I think they made some kind of Turnpike option Vista Cruiser that may have been a 400 2 barrel. Other than that, I think it had to be a 442 to get the 400.

The 400's were in the 68/69 442's also and factory w/ the 2 Bbl in some 68/69 era wagons..
If you want it, I left a 330/320 at buddy's farm a couple years back that you're welcome to for free if it's still there and you wanna come up here and pull it out of the crashed '67 Cutlass it's still sitting in.. It's an original 330/320 Hp Ultra High Compression one and wasn't seized as of a couple years ago also was running a couple before that but has been loose in the snow and rain so will need a total teardown and all now..
If anyone needs parts, theres a nice 2 Dr. Hdtp. driver's door and decent 1/4 panel on the car also a few more pickings...was a solid S. Carolina car before it got a heavy hit that creamed the front and pass side..

Carl 1 Gary from N.B e-mailed, and got info from Chris, at U.S Auto Supply ,and he says the supposed 67 Cutlass motor, is W360381 I looked on Olds engine site, and could only see, W 'might" be a 66-67 330 Olds Can you deciper the W360382 ? please Carl2
My knowledge is somewhat limited, based on what I learned from my brother. I what appears to be the "all inclusive deal" on this site. I think it will likely tell you what it is. Not sure that the the number you listed is the key to the mystery yet.
"Edit"
Did some reading there and found this, or is that where you found your info?
1964-67 V-8 Engine: Code is stamped on the right cylinder head. Unfortunately, this only applies to what was originally the driver's side head. This code consists of a prefix letter (330 V8=T(1964-65) or W(1966-67), 400 V8 = V), then a production sequence number, followed by a suffix code letter (L = Low compression, E = 2-bbl export, G = High compression, H = 4-bbl export). A 2-letter code on the oil filler tube identified the engine
And one more edit, another page I found says 330 engine numbers are 3xxxxx and 400 numbers are 2xxxxx.

Thank you for your time Carl... It looks like the motor, is probably a 330.. I am 140 miles away, and will gladly go get it for him, but want to make sure its the real thing... I wonder if he could find a 400 out west? I owe you again that 2 gallons now!
There does not seem to be any 400's around here either Carl. All in all, a pretty rare thing to find even in the US unless the $$$ flow pretty freely.
I just spotted this response.. I was going to ask, if there was any place to look... I dont think the motor, in Detroit is correct.. I wish I could locate one for him..
Friend has located motor in Mass. 1969 I haven't figured why he is looking for 69 now to put in his 66? unless he just wants a 400.. He has a 455 in it now.. code is 39M236410 ANY IDEAS? Just had e-mail from him.. With the 66-67 so rare, he is looking at 69.. He wants to have a 400 instead of 76 455 smoogger, he has now... 39M236410
