Jeff from ABBOTTSFORD B.C contacted me, after seeing my 2 door (last white Strato Chief on the planet).. He has a non Canadian built car.. It is a great looker... 1966 Pontiac Catalina 2 DOOR POST "RED" factory ordered 421cu.in. 400 turbo, tinted glass, deluxe steering wheel, radio delete... Not as fast as a 427 but still a beautifull car Did I say it was RED!!! trying to encourage Jeff to join... Carl2
I saw a '66 Post roll through town here in Peterboro' about 10-12 years ago...my color memory is bad but I think it was burgandy?. I never got closer than a block away from the car and tried chasing it down until traffic & lights stopped me...also the ex wife.. Pretty sure it was a Strato but never got close enough before it got away.. Anyone know of a burgandy '66 Post in Ontario?.

Another beautiful post car. Personally I don't care if it's a Cdn 427 or a US 421 car, they're equally desirable to me. I've got both Canadian and US cars and I value both.
I believe the lack of chrome on a 2 door post was a delete option on the US Catalinas. In fact most of the Catalina 2 dr posts I've seen have the chrome - I've only seen a few that did not. But i am not aware that it was part of the Strato Chief or Laurentian 2 door package, and I've never seen one with the chrome. Whether it was an available option is another question. I know I have seen 68 & 69 Biscayne 2 door posts with the chrome post trim that was supposed to be optional equipment. Here is a link to a yellow L72 Biscayne that shows the chrome window package. I have seen a build sheet on this car somewhere online that lists it as one of the options that was delivered on the car. http://www.rinstadauctions.com/vehicles/10.htm
