Anybody need a 67 GP for parts or....

Hi guys, this summer I ran across a fairly plain but fairly complete 67 GP in Fort Mac, AB The guy didn't want to sell parts and wanted to sell it complete   I couldn't argue with that but I wasn't in the market. We never talked price.

To the best of my memory it had a 283 Powerglide and was fairly unmolested including what looked like a really quite nice grille with the hideaways etc. it looked like it hadn't run for about 15/20  years though.

Let me know if you need something like that.  I can't actually remember the name of the boneyard but I do know where it is.

I'd hate to see it get crushed.

Sorry I forgot to mention,  2 door HD. I was just looking at it to see if I could  use the side and rear glass as it looked the same as my 66 GP 2 door but it was non-shaded as I recall.  I didn't take any pictures though.  If I remember right it had a gold interior and buckets with console.  Any more than that and I'd  just be BSing as it wasn't that important to me at the time and it didn't register with me, but since I joined up here I'm thinking someone needs it.

I don't think the 67 glass fits 66 does it?

You should make a list of needs Ken. There is at least one 66 American GP in a wrecking yard south of here that it pretty complete.

Hey Ken!! I don't think the glass would have fit your car just the same. Your right, C1, just '65 and '66 I do believe. And yes, I need it!! Well, I don't really neeed it, but looking for a 2-dr Grande to go along with the others. If you get a chance, any info on it would be appreciated..... This wagon is up there as well. Got another buddy of mine checking on it...

I'm no expert but I thought the rear glass and back window looked about the same.  I'll see what the guy wants for it if I can remember which yard.

Geez, maybe on the Grande only because in '66 and '67 they were a 57 series!! I was comparing the 2-dr coupe instead and not this style as I have only seen two live 2-dr Grandes...........My bad!!
And Carl, this maybe a twin to yours as it too was a 396ci................

I checked the back glass and you are correct, 66 and 67 are the same. The 66 quarter window is unique to 66 however. 67 is different.

rofl.gif No worries. Number 1, I wouldn't do that, number 2, I don't even know where it is to be able to do that. And it was more a general statement that one of these days a car will be for sale on here that I will have a big problem resisting.

Have to agree with you guys - the 67 & 68 Grande Parisienne wagons with the hideaways are the best looking wagons made in the 60s - though I'm also partial to the 69 Bonneville/Grande Parisienne and of course as a Chevy guy too, the 68 & 69 Caprice wagons with hideaways. I'd take any one of them, big block preferred ....

A buddy of mine in Goose-Bay, Labrador has a '67 Biscayne wagon he put a 427 and a beefed up 'glide into. (was a 250 3 on tree car) Later on I a 4-gear in for him. Went very very well and was a nice shifting and handling cars as well. He also owns a '67 Bel-Air 2-dr post RCMP car. He is a '67 Chev nut as I am the Pontiac counterpart!!!

My brother has lived in Goose Bay off and on for the past 15 years. I asked him to look out for full size 65-70 Chevy & Pontiac sedans and wagons for me (hoping I might find a 2 dr post or a wagon). He did say there was a guy who had a few late 60s Chevys but they weren't for sale. I'm thinking he's never seen them because he didn't know any details. However, I was lucky enough to score a rusty 68 Impala in Goose Bay that had a 73 Biscayne cop car 454 and an M21 4 speed. Still have all of that stuff.

John, when did you score this Impala? When I was there from '88 to '97, I never did see a '67 Pontiac wagon to recall of and worst yet, if I did , I wasn't interested..........There was lots I should have snagged but 2 little 2 late now!! I am sure it is the same guy and I will post a pic on here to show you.
The first in the left is a 4-dr sedan, then the black wagon is the one with the 427ci. The RCMP, stamped on the bottom of the underhood tag,  2-dr sedan is the one to the right of the wagon. The 4th pic is my Grande and his "everyday" wagon and the final pic, digital pics of regular pics--fuzzy I know, is his Impala SS, original 250ci and glide, and my Grande. The Turquise clip on the black wagon is the original clip to the SS. A buddy of ours owned the SS first, smashed the clip on the wagon, then gave Mike the clip off the SS to repair the wagon. The SS was towed out of another guys yard on its roof for scrap but Mike rescued it and got it repaired.

C2, I will get in contact with him and ask him to join............

Vince, I got the 68 Impala out of Goose Bay in 1991 or 92. It was a red fastback 2 dr ht, original 307 T400 car with black bench interior (white Vega buckets added when I got it). It had been converted to a 454 4 spd. I put the power train in the 68 Impala Custom I had at the time, but pulled it all out again when I sold the car. I sold the fastback as a roller, and bought a few parts back later when it was scrapped for parts for someone else's rusty 68 Impala convt project. I had the car shipped straight from Goose Bay to St. John's by boat, and I drove it from the dock to my home.
Thanks for posting these pics. I'd love to get my hands on a 66-68 Biscayne or Bel Air /Strato Chief or Laurentian 2 dr post.
