gparis7 wrote: Vince, I got the 68 Impala out of Goose Bay in 1991 or 92. It was a red fastback 2 dr ht, original 307 T400 car with black bench interior (white Vega buckets added when I got it). It had been converted to a 454 4 spd. I put the power train in the 68 Impala Custom I had at the time, but pulled it all out again when I sold the car. I sold the fastback as a roller, and bought a few parts back later when it was scrapped for parts for someone else's rusty 68 Impala convt project. I had the car shipped straight from Goose Bay to St. John's by boat, and I drove it from the dock to my home. Thanks for posting these pics. I'd love to get my hands on a 66-68 Biscayne or Bel Air /Strato Chief or Laurentian 2 dr post.
Well, for the life of me, I can't remember this car and by the time I got there till '91, I had the area well scoured!!!! IYou sure it wasn't pre '88? I will ask Mike about this car as well!!!!
Ok, back to the main topic (as entertaining as you guys are.) I managed to get a hold of the boneyard I saw this 67 GP 2door in and it is still there! The guy wants $1000.00 and isn't planningto bargain. (I already tried.) He also doesn't have a picture to send. (Seems a little grouchy)
So, if you are interested in this pig in a poke, I can either put you in touch with this outfit and you can deal direct, or just for the fun of it I am willing go up on Friday with a friend of mine and fetch it out of there. I'd have to know that some one is going to cover the cost of it and cover my trip costs, but that way it'll be out of the bone yard and it could stay at my place until you can find a way to get it. I live about three hours north of Edmonton which is better than having it 6 hours north (unless you are from Fort MacMurray)
I haven't actually checked with my wife yet but as long as I say it's just temporary she usually doesn't squawk too much. No shortage of room and probably a safer place to store it.
Sorry Carl, its just the 67. If you knew how much money I've sunk into the 66 so far with it still a long ways from running much less roadworthy you might not be so eager to take it off my hands anyway. These things really suck up the disposable (hah) income!
Still worth it though! Big progress coming up over the holidays!
Howdy guys, an update on this machine. Tomorrow, pretty much for the heck of it me and a buddy are heading up to Fort mac to get this car sort of on spec. (67 Poncho has first refusal on it for whatever I pay for it plus the cost of gas and lunch.)
If it's too far gone and he can't use it I'll probably part it out. (or maybe I'll fall in love with its flowing lines myself) I'm kind of sleazy that way.
I'll take some snaps of the expedition and post a few if you guys are curious as to what this thing looks like.
I was in Fort McMurray from 96 till 2001 and I can't remember any old cars in the wreckers there. The only part of town anyone had any room to store cars was the acreages near the airport. Can't remember the name.
I just got back from McMurray just over a year ago, and I checked out all the wreckers out past the airport and they did not have anything old anymore unfortunetly. What part of the city is the 67 GP in??? Thickwood??

Hi guys thanks for the thoughts. All I can say is even though its a little sadder than I remembered, it's sittin in my yard right now! That statement along with the pictures here should tell you all you need to know about my judgment when these old tubs are concerned.
I tried posting these last night but no luck, so sorry for the delay . I'm going to try spliitting up the pictures inot two message as their might have been too much for the uploader machine or whatever musterious black box does that.
Anyway I wish you guys could have been there. it was one of those manly kind of days.
The first pictures are when we first found it at R+D enterprises just south of the road to Saprae Creek. Yes the quarters are pretty shot but the floor seemed ok as did the rockers. I haven't had the chance to look any deeper. I believe it was a Saskatchewan car judging from the plates so maybe the rust doesn't go too deep. Heres' hoping.

Well, I don't really neeed it, but looking for a 2-dr Grande to go along with the others. If you get a chance, any info on it would be appreciated..... This wagon is up there as well. Got another buddy of mine checking on it...
