GM put more chrome, on their cars in 58, than any other year.. They even put chrome strips, on trunk of Corvette.. fyi

cool pic and i for one love all that chrome, they just seem like more works of art than just four wheels and an engine like nowadays.

Yeah Carl  '58 was the height of chrome trim. Harley Earl was in charge back then.
One of his staff commented "Harley would have worn chrome on his clothes if he could"
