Question?

Question. Are fender skirts for a 1956 Canadian Pontiac the same as a 1956 American Pontiac?

For my Canadain Pontiac..54 its the same as a chevrolet for the skirts..yours might be the same. But I'm not tottally sure. do some checking aound and you should be able to find out.

After doing some checking it looks as if as to what I see yours is the same as the US pontiac..not the chev..

Yes the fender skirts are the same for 56 Pontiacs ,Americian and Canadian except for the stationwagons. They are called "Shields". There are two types available painted  part no. 984948 and stainless steel part no. 988505.  The stainless shields were twice the price of painted shields from GM when originally available. If you find a set of nos painted shields they should be in black primer. The stationwagon shields are part no 984949.

Brake and suspension parts are the same as a 57 chev probably still available at any parts store but they may have to order them in. Wheel bearings can be found on ebay or bring the old ones to a bearing store and they will match up the numbers from the wheel bearing.

I bought a ton of stuff of them for my wagon all pretty good stuff at good prices. Probably the best buy was a complete screw kit for the interior. It sure made a big difference to get rid of all the old striped screws
