Although the brochure is showing the 265 as green all the original 1955 265 engine's I have seen where grey. The 261 engine's are a lighter green than in the brochure. The artists have sure made the Canadan Pontiac look a lot longer than they are actually are.
I also noticed the brochure shows the Laurentian with a full wheel disc with a red centre. Only very early production 55's had a disc with the red centre. There must have been either a problem with the disc itself or the supplier as Pontiac changed to an "After Job" and went with a white centre. These full wheel discs are very difficult to find in either colour as they have a tendency to come off the wheel and get lost on the side of the road. I am always on the lookout for these full wheel discs if anybody happens to come across them.

Hey Al, I've seen a 56 and 57 in green on the small block, is that right for originality? I do recall dad's 261 in his 61 was a lighter more aqua shade.
I beginning to think GM must of used both colours. I have only seen grey 55 265's but there probably were some green ones too although I have never seen one as most of the cars I have seen were 261's and most of the 265's were redone and painted Chevy orange. I sure would like to see someone join here with an original untouched 265 55-57 Pontiac. Hopefully sooner than later.
The sedan delivery was sold through the GMC truck division. It was marketed more as a truck than a car . I have photocopies of the 55 and 56GMC Pontiac Sedan deliveriy brochures. These are very hard items to find. Do you have one?
That's why I'm loyal to GMC, that Pontiac truck lineage. Probably not the place for this but the GMC Sprint would have been easy to make look like a Pontiac too.

My 56 6-cyl. 261 original color (now mostly faded away or chipped off):
what would you call it, sort of bluish green?
