I got to stay home today because bad weather freezing rain here in Winnipeg area...didn't get to go to work, oh well. Instead of doing nothing all day, I decided to remove the rear bumper off my 72 Lemans 400 project, the car was badly painted over 15 years ago by a careless bodyman, there was alot of bumper to body/brackets bolts missing and one of the bracket managed to crack on the driver side, only one bolt was retaining that side of the bumper...some people we can't trust ! Look at the driver side hanging low...
Yesterday I bought a nice set of rear tailight housings from a 1971 Lemans Convertible owner I know (He calls himself MrLamans), only $40, the driver side was broken on my car, I now have almost all the parts I need for the restoration except for the rear wheelwell moldings, front floor pans and rocker chrome moldings, some of it, I'll buy new at The Parts Place in the states.
Here are my excuses LOL : I still have to finish my garage ie. insulation and OSB walls / ceiling, shingles, install new garage door ... finish child support next year (april), stop hording my money for retirement ...
I already dismantle the rear bumper and found a big crack on the drivers side bracket as well as the broken tail light, I wonder what happened, the bumper isn't dented ??? Anyway, now I got a good set of brackets and tail light assemblies.
