Well the Left side was hard enough (the rear shackle bushing was scraping the fuel filler), but the Right rear shackle bushing won't come out. It is about 1/2 inch shy of clearing the spare tire well. No matter how I pound on its bolt or wiggle it.
If anyone has a trick to get that old shackle out (and the new one in) on the Right rear, I'd really appreciate your help.
I'm about to cut out a section of the spare tire well but I'd rather not if there's a better way.

Al has a good method, however I figured out another way -- the trick is the sequencing of the steps of removing the shackle and bushings. With the outer bushing removed, so I could push the inner bushing WITH THE SHACKLE ON IT out of the hanger, the assembly twisted out very easily. The key is that the end of the bolt is much smaller diameter than the hole in the hanger, allowing the amount of tilt needed. But not with the inner bushing still in the hanger, it's got to be out of the way.
Along the way, I discoverd some improvements to the shop manual procedure for rear spring removal. I modified the sequencing of steps to make the procedure work better. I've posted that procedure with full details separately.
