A third hand for soldering.

When soldering, it's always nice to have somthing to hold the wire steady, I've always seemed to fight with it when doing the smaller work, and I'm trying to do a nice job with these harness connectors.
So I threw together this little jig for no real cost.

12G romex, from residential 12/2. Nice and stiff. 14/2 would probably work as well.

2 cheap China Auto alligator clips. Solder them on.

Cover the teeth with a couple layers of shrink wrap so they don't poke the wire insulation.

A scrap piece of wood and a self tapping screw.

Works great! Somtimes it's just the smallest thing that can make really make difference when doing a job.

Cheers.

That's real slick Mark. As long as you don't have the patent I may be copying one of those!

im building one of those tonight!! thats perfect!! I am going to make one with four clips because i need it for wiring up electric guitars, and that would make it so much easier to hold the volume and tone controls!
