Maybe have 67 Beaumont crossmember found. Should know before noon tomorrow.
Tomorrow @ 7:30 am, should have modified B body crossmember finished.
Will probably try to put one of them in at noon tomorrow.
Have rebelrousers offer of help.

It's great to have the wealth of knowledge and help that this site brings to us.

I have to say thanks again to Todd for making this possible.

saga continued...
Got the Plan A original crossmember modified by 7:00 am Wed.
Installed it and found that the shifter arms had lots of clearance.
Hooked up the rods rods and discovered that the 3/4 rod would interfere with the modified crossmember. Oops.
Plan B was next. My buddy called and said he had a 67 Beaumont automatic crossmember that I could have. He delivered it about 11:30 am.
At lunch I went to install it as per C2's instructions. After much cursing and banging with the BFH, I decided that it could not fit. Pulled it out and measured. Guess what?
The Beaumont crossmember is 1.5 inches longer than the original crossmember. If I cut the ends .75 inches each, I would lose the holes. Oops.
Next up plan A version 2.
Modify the modifed original crossmember.
Finished modifying the modification after work.
Primed and painted.
Installed it and son of a gun it works.
Buttoned everything up and decided to install the shift lever.
Discovered that the nice shiny new lever had touched the console and 3 inches of chrome was missing. Oh well the old lever was installed.
First and third gear are OK. Second, fourth and reverse all have the lever hitting the chrome bezel on the console. Oops.

To be continued.......

We have lift-off today. I had a new bracket fabricated to replace the one that came with the kit. Moved the shift lever up 1", to the right .5" and forward 1". Now it doesn't hit the console.

powershift here we come

whenever the weather improves, or I leave for Penticton.

YAHOO

contrats Rick.  We'll have to see if I can keep up to you on the way back from Penticton.  There's some windy sections on hiway 97 & the Trans Canada.

I still don't have disc brakes, so I'll still have to work hard.
