I think it's rare to have reverse lights (not delete plates) I have a few sets of D/P & I
don't they repop light housings. Oh & welcome aboard '65' is a good yearbiggrin

1965 and 1967 chevelles and beaumonts all use the same backup lights and housings.  I think they are repoped and readilly available

in 1965, back up lights were optional, so the delete plates are not rare + they are the same as chevelles.  The delete plates are not repoped to my knowledge, so in that respect, they are harder to find.

1967's used the same lights, but back-up was standard equipmnet by they.

P.S.   You 67 guys check the date stamp on your lenses (SAE 65).

If I were you I would put in the back-up lights. You don't want to bump the old girl into something in the dark. What kind of shape is the 65 SD in? Any pictures?

I have a brand new set of back up lights if you need them. I think I paid around $45 each, can dig out the bill.

let me tell you people are not used to seeing a vehicle backup without backup lights. many a time i had to use the horn while backing up my 55 gmc, especially in donut shops. not that i go to lots of donuts shop. ah timmies.

my story

Thanks guys!just didn't know what the delete plates were. seems weird not to have backup lights.Oh yeah i'm 46 but i've been into beaumonts since 1980 when i bought my first beaumont.Short history of my 69 beaumont-bought car in Abbotsford BC.In 1980 paid $3300 stock 307 later put in 350 four bolt main Board 30 over 202 heads cammed etc. had car for six years. My brother bought it from me I told him not to take it apart but of course he did left in pieces for 20 years slightly vandelized moved 4 times... didn't talk to brother for years and years (family fighting) brother called me a year ago told me i could have my car back so i have all the pieces, parts to put back together one day but first i'll do my 65 s/d so i can have something cool to drive.

thanks,
Mr. 65s/dCAR
