57' trim clips? Anyone have a source?

I am looking for a source for the trip clips that hold on various pieces of trim on my 57' 2dr hardtop.  Anyone have a source?  Are they the same as the 57' chevy clips?

did you try "restoration specialties" ?

They have a lot of clips and small things.

Good luck

Fitz.

I just bought a bunch from 67cayne or altha1 on ebay for my car.

If you can't find specific clips for your car check the description in the ads they usually fit most trim that's a certain width.

When I did my 57 I used a clip similar to the one on the front stainless. They are available and any clip and fastener shop just look in the yellow pages. The one that are hard to get are on the ends of the stainless on the doors with the screws, Also save some of the old push in type for the rear of the front fenders as it is hard to get you hands back past the heater

Is the clips similar to a 57 chevy?   I asked at my local shop and they basically said that without a part number I am SOL because they don't have the books to look it up.

I went through all the chrome for the car yesterday and there is not a single clip on any of it or left on the body.

They look the same but when I bought them they didn't seem to fit right. When you try and push them on the panel want to buckle you have to push so hard.

Many of the old car clips are available from Spae-Nauer ( spelling ) Victoria St in Kitchener-Waterloo ON. They put out a pretty detailed catalog with pics. Includes clips, bolts, screws, nuts, windlace, welting, window channels etc. If you work in a plant then your Engineering dept probably has a copy of the catalog. If a mail in order they usually sell by the box ( usually 50 or 100 ) but I have walked in and bought individual items.
Believe this is where the guys who sell at Flea Markets source their wares from.

I bought some here:

http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Florida-Auto-Fastener

Search his store for Pontiac clips and you'll find them.

If I remember right, I checked his measurements against my moldings to make sure they'd fit OK.

I confess I haven't used them yet, still working on mechanicals, no body work yet for me.

Dave
