Before I installed these on my Disc brake centres I recorded the part numbers I thought it was interesting that were 2 numbers 1.- GM 552317 2.- CHEV 3401978 I wonder what the Chev number was for? C2
I won't mark them up 500% unless you are desparate! lol I could not give away, or sell cheap, enough stuff, to come close, to the value, I have received from all the CP friends I have I even shipped the shirt off my back to Vancouver
I have a complete set of the wheels that take the Chevy center caps. They are 15" wheels and came on a '59 Chevy Brookwood 2 door wagon that I bought almost 30 years ago. I wanted stock wheels on the wagon so I took them off and put them away and they'll be going onto my wife's '70 Impala coupe next year after it is painted. They are a REALLY pretty wheel without the deep off set of a Corvette wheel - hard to find but VERY nice! I'd love to find a set for my '70 Parisienne hard top. It's interesting to find out thatt he Pontiacs obviously udsed the same wheels and styled caps - I never ever thought about it before. I guess you learn something every day.
Carl the 552317 is the P/n for the cap and the 3401978 is the backing plate. The backing plates are still available from GM. Bought a set and put the 552317's off the wire caps on them. Really like a set of NOS 552317 caps if anyone has some !!
