I didn't expect it to be blue though, that means it is 1977 and later.
yes, funny looking waterpump too ! blue for pontiac !
Hey Ken , re -read what I wrote again, that's a big hint, post 76 everything was Corporate Blue so If I was surprised to see it in blue, what colour was I expecting to see???
By the looks of the water pump and front pulleys, it looks like a tall block out of a medium duty??? Did you check it?
Have you worked on many of those Vincent?
Hey Ray!!! Haven't worked on them as such other than tune ups! But here in Sask, there are a lot of grain trucks with this type of mill in them... 366's as well look the same at a glance....... Also, the Holley was another give away.......

Guys, I know the answer but why is no one making a guess? It's killing me.
guess? what are we guessing at ray?
it's a tall deck 366/427 chevrolet truck motor.
bingo. its a 79 366. the old tall decks were known for torque and nothing else. its a high nickel block with a 4 bolt main and a forge steel crank. i'm putting it in my 78 cj7 which already has 1 ton 78 gmc running gear, farmer 4 sp w/ a 205 transfer case. which leave the 454 going back into the beaumont. the 454 was just the wrong motor in the jeep. on another note what would you guys think if i turned the wagon into a straight axle.
