1964 beaumont




Has anyone one used 1986 Monte Carlo disc brakes and spindles on a 64 beaumont.
Stripping a Monte and think it looks alot like the beaumont.

I think the older monte's are usable (70-72).. not sure about the newer ones though

It's do able,,,some key things though....it's not a bolt on.

use the 86 lower ball joint turn down ( .030" ?  I'd have to double check the number) lower ball joint outer housing ( the part that friction fits into the lower a-arm)  it wil then fit into the stock 64 a- arm.

bolt in the upper 86 ball joint.

use the 86 outer tire rod end.

the bump steer is close with that spindle

I believe the spindle height  ( ride height ) is close.

so , since your stripping it all,,keep all teh steering gear..Idler, center link , etc.

Thats exactly what I did on my 65 Wagon, only I used 78-82 full size pontiac/chevrolet parts.Sounds like the Monte stuff is the same.

Thank's fellows, I'll be stripping the entire front A-arms and steering. Kelly I'll be at the Langely car show at 9.30am Sat and be picking up the other 64 rag at noon Sat in Langely.
