Sure.I will put It in my shop and you can work on it anytime for me.Vinny was right you are a great bunch of guys
Glad you chimed in and piped up, "oldsledguy"!!!! And for the love of Pontiac, keep the praises low key.... Some guys on here have trouble putting their "hats" on as it is!!!! (lol)
Hey oldsled guy my brother has the other one the forum knows of. (Built in March)
Same setup exactly as yours except triple black. Yours doesn't look like it has power steering from the pictures. Is that the case? Is yours 340 horse as well?
Also you may already know this but my brother had his checked by GM vintage services a few years back and there were 74 custom sport hardtops and convertibles built with the 340 horse 409. Not sure of the breakdown between automatics and 4 speeds though. Do you have any better numbers?
It great to know of another. Maybe we can compare notes or ????
You are right you are only as old as you think you are.Just got thinkin my memory and math isnt as good as it used to be.The adventures ended 30 years ago.Ive had lots of cool cars im not sure why this one seemed to stick with me.
You are right grandguy my car doesnt have power steering just a idler pulley where the pump should be.It doesnt have a lot of options.Power brakes, power antena and vacume gauge.I think radio and clock where standard items along with the tach when you got the standard trans.Had GM look into this car back when it was free, but lost the paper. It was actually a photo copy of a ledger type page.It showed a car before and after mine.Gave me the shipping location and decoded the option list for the car that was it.
The car has never been owned by anyone farther than 70 miles from the place it was sold.If i remember right i looked at the cars which where on the photo copy and one was a very well optioned rag top.I dont think it was a 09 car it might not have even been a custom sport but it sure had a lot of options.
Those sheets are gold nowadays. We will never be able to get that kind of info from GM again.
I have the one for my 65 Acadian, my nephew has the one for his 67 Beaumont. Fun to look at and see what was made in those days.
Are you talking about the build sheets, that used to come with :package"? Bert at the trailer park withthe 66 396SD with transistor ign has those sheet(s) I will get acopy of them
I'll see if I can get build date of my friends Rag top 409 4 spd. car if he'll let me in to storage building. When he had GM check out the #'s he was told it was 1 of 6 409 4spd conv. built [custom sport] it's a single 4bbl. will see what happens, he doesn't want it known where the car is located!!!

Way back in 2009 Vinnie put pics of my car on this thread.well life has kinda slowed down and I finally got the old girl outta storage and into the shop. Heres how she looks today. Because of old fuel and my stupidity it ended up with some bent push rods. (Parts are on order. I will do some long over due maintance and some detailing and cleaning and hopefully hit a few cruise night this summer.
Great to see that she is getting back into the wind. We will have to make plans to get together sometime this upcoming car season. As Mr. Burns would say...
