I also picked up a good set of snow tires on rims that were part of the deal. The tires on the Jeep are like new and fairly aggressive. I might sell the snows and use the funds for the HEI conversion.
Will the "summer" tires be good (sticky, soft) for winter? Do they have the "mountain peak" on them?

Excellent job there Darryl. With the building looking so good you will soon forget the memory of those sore ribs. I was doing a little metal roof trim last week with the same shade of green.
Gee Darryl, you're getting to be quite the expert at building over sized dog houses......
......expecting to have to use it ?
Don't forget to put your name over the door.
Don't give my wife ideas!
Actually, it will house my pet sasquatch.

Started fabricating a front mounted hitch for my Jeep to mount my plow. My "auto dimming" welding helmet didn't auto dim. Ouch.
Bought a standard dark shade (#10) to use in the meantime.

You are ready for the next eclipse.

Making up a new harness for the brother in law's 47 Chev truck. Using a Painless 14 circuit panel, a Ford headlamp switch, dimmer and bulkhead plug.
GM column ignition switch. Diverted the main feed through a relay to the block rather than through the ignition switch. You should have seen the harness it had in it. A butchered 75 Mustang Frankenstein thing that it came with. Truck has a Mustang II front end, so we suppose they'd used everything they could. He now has my HO350/TH400 in place.
Truck is from Saskatchewan. No real rust but rough looking. Should be a nice rod.
I love this stuff, trick is to screw everything down when you're making it up...
The HEI conversion arrived for my 88 Jeep today. The conversion is made by CRT Performance and will eliminate the crappy Ford style ignition that also uses the PCM and a separate ignition box to set timing. The computers on these Jeeps are crap (hey, it's from 1988). The next step will be to eliminate the computer control on the carburetor (easy to do). I hope to install it once I have the fuel tank back in. I have my new sending unit. I'm now waiting for a new fuel fill and vent hose. Figured I might as well replace them while the tank was out. They are heavily cracked. The distributor also came with custom ignition wires.
Not much we can do about it any more. It's hard to buy anything not made outside America. I see GM parts coming past me constantly made in all the low wage countries.

I got it from CRT Performance in Norwalk, Ohio as the reviews were quite good. I know the wires are made in USA but am unsure about the distributors. Here's the specs of mine:
- Polished Billet Aluminum Housing
- Centerless Ground Shaft
- Performance Adjustable Vacuum Advance For Optimum Performance
- Brass Terminal Distributor Cap
- Brass Tipped & Balanced Rotor
- High Powered 65,000 Volt Coil
- High Performance Control Module
- Correct Drive Gear (wont destroy your cam gear)
- Free Custom Fit Power/Tach Leads
I cut the rest of my 70 Grandprix Parts car and took a couple loads to scrap metal. It was so rusty the body came right off the frame without unbolting it, the frame was real thin as well.
