what did you do in your garage / shop and or driveway today ?

Went up in the loft today to get the Tomato baskets.

Ended up finding the shifter for my project car that was put up there about 15 years ago.

Dealt with the baskets first,

Happy wife, happy life !

Spent the rest of the day un-seizing and installing the shifter.

Now I'm happy too.

At the cabin, not in the driveway...

Got the chain saw out, cut down some dead poplars, got the axe out and worked up a good sweat before a swim in the lake!

Oh yeah, and cut up and split a little bit of a pine that broke off in a wind storm I assume.

Because I had to come home and moderate all the useless stuff you were posting here while I was away with no internet.

Yup, time for about 30 hp and a 5' finishing mower behind it.

Big step today , American autowire 510063 classic update harness, engine And lighting circuits done.

Fired up Dart SHP 421 cid. Sbc , sounds awesome with 2 1/2" exhaust and magnaflow mufflers.

tested out 605 steering box and hydroboost brake system. Need to install shifter so i can go around the block.

next on the list is dash  wiring and interior.

I find when we have too much tall grass the mosquitoes get really bad. It was like that when we moved here and you couldn't even go outside during the day without being attacked .

Bernie, you're going to need a custom floor mat for that machine. Cardboard just doesn't cut it lol!

I agree, near 1/2 the time to cut with one of those zero turns

..........hey Darryl that was the demo day.....salesman put the cardboard there.....bought it that afternoon after they gave my a great trade in on the Cub Cadet (Kabota) diesel you see in the barn. I miss that diesel tho, used to use it push/tow cars in/out of the barn or shop, the gas motor in the Ferris machine just doesn't cut it for that but for grass - ain't nuthin' better.

I'd love one of them! Big bucks though. I saw a guy riding one today and noticed it moves about twice as fast as mine (and I cut in 6th gear!)

We've been selling Ferris zero turns at work for a number of years now. Well built machine, very few quality concerns and the customers all come back with that crazy smile and the statement "I can't believe how fast it is and how good a job it does." Not the cheapest zero turn by any means but a great machine. Same company as Simplicity, who we've been a dealer for since 1990. A big part of my job is lawn and garden parts in the summer months. I actually enjoy that almost as much as auto parts.

The biggest problem with the zero turns is,

They don't hide the beer belly biggrin

My twin 1980 Fs do the trick.

You want Johnnee to help, get yourself one of there babies.

Zero turn would be nice as I have quite a few trees to mow around. Speed would be nice too!

........as Nike used to say...."Just do it".......you won't regret it and in fact you will look forward to cutting your grass.
