RE: what did you do in your garage / shop and or driveway today ?

Been busy last few days!! Pulled 6.9 out of bus...spare for dad. Pulled 352 out of 65 F$#d to put in a fresh 360. Finished off repairing and painting rockers on my wifes truck. Then a cut polish, buff and wax. Came up nice for 20yr old paint! Think I need to hire some cheap labour......Dougie?

James car looks like a stretch Limo. Rare!!!biggrin

No I didn't and I've been shopping. I wish I could still buy the original GM cam new. I had one in my 4 speed 427 car way back when. Perfect cam with just a tiny hint of it at idle. Nice and driveable. I don't want to over cam this engine. I'm not building it to beat on it.

I see at least one manufacturer will cut the groove in the cam if I order from them.

Carl is there really such a thing as over caming, you're just driving at the wrong speed

Even though this car is a 283 car, I plan to make it look like an original 427 car as best I can, and I don't want an excessive cam to give it away. I actually do like the GM stock 390 horse cam anyway, but I would like a touch more hint of a cam at idle than what the GM cam gives.

Nothing too exciting. Applied the proper Jeep decals to the front fenders of my 88 YJ. Previous owner never bothered to install them after painting it.

Stood in the garage tonight with a CP member from another province along with his 2 brothers. After they spend the night in Morris I'm gonna kick them out so they can continue their adventure! So, although no work got done, it was an evening well spent.

it was a great nite taking the town tour with Carl and my brothers then an over nite stay at Hotel Stevenson. Checked out Carls garage and the 4 speed swap. Left early in the morning to go pick up the latest treasure

The GSX is a replica that took me a very long time to get done, buy a part here, there, cry and Beatch about exchange rates, you know the common Canadian car building blues.

My build thread for the car is here http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/skylark-to-gsx-replica.226189/ probably missing a bunch of pictures since photobucket fail.

Guess my arms weren't sore enough! Started in on buffing my 57...got the pass side done! Apply by machine...remove by hand.hmm A little history on this car for you guys that like Tri 5's.  Bought it when I was 18(1984),...30 odd years ago!!Was a basket case but drove it for a few years, then it went under the knife. New 1/4's, door skins, flloor pans etc. Was the first real body job I did and didn't know what I was doing!! She shows her aches and pains after all this time but still is a blast to drive with the built up orig 283 , t-5 behind it and 3.73  8.8 posi.

Buff job and interior
