I gotta be honest and that was one of the first i saw, it's absolutly badass, i love the wheels, the stance,  and the fact that it's a big block is cool as hell....mine's been under a cover then garaged for a hundred years so it's dusty and dirtys as hell, im curious to see how it looks after it's clean and i get it buffed. I wanted to remove the body line trim that runs the lenght of the car, im pretty sure it's glued on and it sagging in some spots so i should get it off. has anyone attempted to do this without trashing the paint? i was hoping to remove it then have the car buffed....and where oh where would i fing a set of wheels like those???

You can send to GM Vintage Vehicle Services and get all the information on your Strato Chief (options, build date, selling dealer etc). CLICK HERE for more info. The Strato Chief was the base model full size Canadian Pontiac. The interior fabric and door panels are the same as the Chevy Biscayne (although I don't believe the Biscayne was available as a 2 door in 1970). The next model up is the Laurentian, next Parisienne, 2+2 and Grand Parisienne (I dont think I've ever seen a 70 GP though)

Todd

no Grande Parisienne in 1970, 1969 was the last year.

275/60-15 will fit fine on the back, I'm running 235/70-15 all around right now.

I wouldn't cut the coils, keep them and save them.  Try finding a set out of another B body of this era that may be compressed a bit more if you want the car to sit a bit lower but I think it sits fine right now.  If you drop it two inches you will for sure have serious rubbing issues with even the standard size tires, let alone bigger ones.  The wheels are nothing special, any salvage yard should still have them.  The dog dishes are still pretty plentiful at swap meets as well.  One thing to note, American ones say "Pontiac Motor Division" whereas Canuck ones just say "Pontiac".wink

C2 is our tire and wheel guru.  Won't late 80's Impala wheels work as well?
