hey guys i'm new to the forum, sorry if this thread is in the wrong place. anyhow, ni have a 60 strato wagon, bc car good overall shape. what i'm wondering is where on this striaght six would the casting numbers to find out what it is. I don't think its the 250 nin it anymore, but i would like to know exactly what it is so i can start some old school modding. thanks.
thanks for the link. it matches some of the chart however the numbers don't match up. it is a green block, its got a tag stuck on it with measurments, throw, bore, engine number, etc. the tag wast stamped in edmonton, so is that where it was built(the engine}. its got me stumpped. i usually do custom work, not matching. i'd like to know what it is to do the dual exhaust and card conversion.
I would imagine that the engine was rebuilt sometime in its life by and independant engine remanufacture and it possibly is the original but just an exchange unit they had. My '56 GMC has a tag just ahead of the fuel pump with Winnipeg as the engine rebuilder......
