Mine was gone when I got the car, I bought a new reproduction glove box for 55-56 Pontiac but of course it is for American-built and although the glove box door is the same and the dash opening is the same and the repro part will bolt in to the dash OK, it is too deep (apparently Canadian-built cars have firewall closer to interior).
I can cut it down, and estimate how much to cut out, but would like to know the depth I should have for sure. So if one of you guys with a 55-56 Canadian Pontiac can get to your car through the snow drifts, and measure the depth of your glove box, both at the bottom and the top, that would be very helpful to me.
Thanks!
Dave

I thought 15 inches seemed kind of big, and I checked my dimensions on the car, and thought "What the ... ???!!!" and then I reread your data correctly as 15 *CENTIMETERS* and I thought 'Dave you dummy" and went back and checked the car again
My American Pontiac glove box is 22 cm deep so that sure explains why it won't fit, eh?
So now I know how much to cut off, thanks again!
And I *NEVER* will get used to the Metric system
