53 Belair compared to a 53 Canadian Pontiac

Hello Guys,

first post here so go easy on me.

I'm a member at chevy talk and it was suggested I ask you fellas whether or not the fenders are interchangeable from a 53 Canadian Pontiac to a 53 Chevy Belair?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rick.

I second that vote! And even say that 53-54 are the same..biggrin But thats only on Pathfinders, not 2500 and 2700 series cars.

53 and 54 are not the same, yes, and Pontiac have a rectangular hole for flasher, I think the chevy one is not the same hole patern for flasher.

Huumm Maybe wrong that I could be, I have been wrong before, but side by side I will have to check. I will go and pull out my 54 fender and take some pics this weekend and then we can compare to Fitz's 53 fender. And then se exactly what the differences are. This I would want to know.

OK got washed up then shot out to the shop. Here's what I took of a 54 fender. If there is other angles you want let me know. So we can compare.

I looked on Fitz's thread and got these to compare from my 54 fenders to his 53 fenders. As you can see there is a difference in the front lower portion of the fender. There is a hole for the 53 turn light where the 54 has only a small hole with a grommet for the wiring for the turn signal. Plus the 54 has a small indent on the front to fit the 54 grill. Other than this lower portion I do believe that the rest of the fender is the same.
