Found this after much searching,knew they existed but where? in order to get a bigger tire under my 67 acadian rear ,I found spring perch relocators made by competition engineering. Part #c2032. My cost at lordco, 92.00 canadian .no four link,no cutting,bolt them in on the existing frame and you get Three BIG inches of extra clearance a side. Good by to skinny little tires.worth looking into,especially if you have thinking of firing up the plasma cutter.(no Carl,I did not lol]
Just read the instructions ,looks like spring perches relocation is recomended. Should not be to hard to do this.
These Competition Engineering offset spring hangers give you an additional 2 1/2 in. of space so you can run large 13-14 in. wide tires on your 1967-69 Camaro and Firebird or 1962-74 in. Nova. The hangers simply relocate the rear of your leaf springs inboard for added tire clearance. The hanger kit is a bolt-in but welding is required to reloca te your spring perches.
Moving the springs inboard will give you some extra clearance but you're still limited by the stock inner wheel tubs. I know 2nd gens have a little more clearance but I don't think you'll get 3" more tire without doing a minitub. You should do a search on stevesnovasite, you'll find a ton of info on this.
I am going to mock it up sans parts pretty soon,but no mini tubs .if I really half to I may split the existing wheel wells and weld in some filler strips. even 2 1/2 inches more is better than none! thanks for the input. side note: your car is looking pretty cherry.
Before I had a 4" minitub done on my 66 Acadian the largest tire I could get in the wheelwell was a 255 on a 7" rim. If you decide to add a filler strip don't go any wider than 4" or you will have your springs make contact with the gas tank, just add the strip to the inside wheel housings.

Yeah, I think 2 to 2.5" is all it takes.
Basically move the inner wheel tub out to the outer frame rail and weld in a strip is what most guys do. Also, make sure you have a fuel tank in the car when you do your mock-up. That'll be another limiting factor unless you want to mod your fuel tank or run a fuel cell.
yeah,I was looking at it pretty hard last week before I went to sea,look like going to the frame rail was the way to do it ,lots of welding/grinding to make it work and look stock to the casual eye,but I am pretty sure that is the way to go.Thanks for the input,always good to have others opinions BEFORE I start doing it.thanks
