Need help to identify this 1957 part!!

Hi guys,

I am unable to determine where this part goes.
P4160451.JPG

I looked in my documentation and the tons of pictures I took when dismanteling my car and no trace of this part... it may come from one of 2 other cars I parted out, but still I have no clue where it goes hmm

If anyone has any idea..please let me know

Thanks!

I don't remember any part on my car that looks like that. Not to say its not from your 57 but I don't think so. When I have it out this weekend I will have a look around.

Looks like the mud guard that bolts in front of the shifting arm or arms to protect them from egxaust heat or mud, I never figured out which.  Ken in Saskatoon.

Hi Ken,

The one you are talking, I alread have it and it's different.

And I also have the 2 "splash guards" that go under the radiator.

Is there supposed to be any other guards, than those 3??

Perhaps it protects the gas filler pipe?

Hi guys,

I was able to figure out this part. Ken you were right, it's the mud guard located near the steering pump. This part is for the 6cyl engine, mine is a V8, that's why the guard is different. Might be useful to know..

Mine looks like this:
