New Pontiac owner as of yesterday. I'm from Manitoba. I just bought a 1950 2 door post for $ 35. It hopefully will be my next, new project as long as the underneath is not to rotten. Once I get it lifted up and home we can get a better look. Body and chrome is all complete and there. Motor is not seized. I currently built a CB 750 chop and a 1936 IHC rat rod. I will keep you guys informed of the progress.
The side tag says silver streak but anybody I have talked to thinks that is wrong.
Welcome Dennis! For 35 bucks you made your money back and more with the hood ornament!

^Silver-Streak: The name taken from a body detail peculiar to Pontiacs manufactured from 1935 to 1956, called a "silver-streak", which is a five-banded, chromed metal band that ran down the middle of the hood and trunk. Born in the Art Deco style of the mid thirties, it was meant as a visual cue to help distinguish Pontiacs from their competitors, and create the illusion of speed.
welcome from another 50's owner, mines a 52 torpedo back, yep you got a good by on that even if for parts. There are some grille pcs. I'm needing & yours "look" real good. You'll enjoy it here & it's even better if your a "little" nuts as well

Man you guys are quick around here!! I'm not 100% sure what to do with the car yet. I'm thinkin' better handling for sure. Maybe lowered on air. I would like to keep the original motor if it isn't to bad of shape. I'm not a big spender so if the motor is hooched, stock 350.
I like the original rusty patina look, but my IHC has the rusty look already so we'll see where this all goes.
It definiatly won't be stock! None of my other toys are!
Here's a couple of pics of my other 2 projects.
Take care, OV

Hey welcome aboard. I love the car, and your trucks. I have a '52 that I was planning on doing a mild 50's kustom myself, but the boys here think it's in too nice a shape to mess with. Keep us up to date with your build, I know I would love to see what you do with it.
Got her home Thursday. Quite a chore as the wheels were stuck in the ground about 8" and the drivers side front brake was locked on. All in all the car is better underneath then I expected! Trunk floor looks good, a couple of holes in the front floors. I'll see more when I get it in the shop this winter and get some blasting done. I was worried there would be snakes in or around the car, cause that would mean the car would remain in the same place as I hate the bastards!!! All good. I'm hopeing to get in the trunk and see if the original wheel skirts are there cause the car has the clips on them. So far so good. Lot's of work ahead.

Model 20-11 thats a Fleetleader two door sedan. I would think its a Ch#^y chassis and a Pontiac 239L six. I think the vin break down goes like this.. 0= model year 1950 2011= Fleetleader two door sedan 28716= numeric number of that model of car off the factory line that year.
Got the mouse ridden interior stripped out. The drivers side floor panels need replacing but pasenger seems fine. I'll know better after we blast it. Got the trunk open, but no skirts inside. Damn!! Trunk floor seems to be fine. NO SNAKES!! I'm going to remove the front tins shortly and see if we can get the motor running. Then frame removal.

Hey Dennis, I would have wished for a ton of snakes in the car (they don't bother me). You wouldn't have been cleaning out all of the mouse crap if there were snakes in the car!

Well, Got the front clip off and the frame is all unbolted. I found a cheap donor Buick. So my plans have changed a bit. I'm gonna do a subframe graft, get rid of the straight six, tranny and rearend. 4-link the buick rear. Put the works on air. Find a V-8. Sorry to all you original lovers!! The original Patina will stay.
Got the subframe off, and built a rotisserie for the job. So hopefully this winter I will see some progress if I can avoid the son's Hockey schedule abit!!
Welcome OV! Cool toys too! Great buy there, chrome looks great in the pic. OK, nobodly else is asking about your avatar so I will.......where did you get that frickin amazing candlabra lamp!
