Need help with Canadian Documentation

Is ther any difference between the US Pontiac Manufacture's Suggested Retail Price Window sticker and the one that was user on Pontiacs sold in Canada?

Here is one I made up from the info I was able to Get from GM of Canada Vintage Vehicle Servers.

If the Canadian version is different would someone post a picture of what it looks like. I would like to create a correct one.

Thanks Rick H

Does anyone know what the Destination Charges would have been on my car?

One last question. What was included in option Z49 Canada Equipment?

US version

Canadian cars are different, that is US all the way. The real difference is that in Canada cars were sold by GM Canada and in the US each Division sold the cars.

Absolutely, I have never seen a blank one that would facilitate reproducing it though.

That Nova is sure an odd combination L65 with M40, who would have ever thought that would happen.

As rare as a 2 door Strato Chief, being built, in a line of Chevy big block two doors, and getting the same air breather, and fender emblems?  wink

Hello guys and gals, this Canadian window sticker thing is kind of taboo with some people on this site and another used by Canadians, which is Steve's Nova site. So let me say right now that my intention is to make reproduction window stickers, not fake, fraudulent ones. I am not a counterfeiter by any means, nor do I want to make a profit off of fellow members here.

I have been working on this Canadian window sticker thing for about 3 years now.
I started out trying to help a friend who has a 1966 Acadian Canso Sport Deluxe and another friend, Henry, over at the NCRS-Ontario who is researching Canadian window stickers. Henry and I found a 1970 Corvette from Gorries Golden Mile in Toronto that is on two sites, http://www.c3registry.org and also on http://www.1970corvetteregistry.org

Anyway I will now show you that window sticker and 2 blank reproductions I have made, one is English and the other Canadian French/English.

I believe the this type English version was used from 1966 to 1969 and this type Canadian French/English type was used from 1970-1974. IMHO

In addition to RPO Z49 Canadian Equipment, there was also other RPOs found on Canadian window stickers and build sheets: V48 Engine Coolant, ZK8 Tire Pressure Sticker and ZQ7 Canadian Warranty.

On the window stickers; I believe this type form was used by GM Canada from about 1966-1972 for all GM models sold in Canada. They just inserted at MAKE: Chevrolet, Pontiac, etc.

On Canadian window sticker prices: the Canadian base car prices and RPOs were generally about 20% higher than their US counterparts.

General Motors Products of Canada, Limited did not use the US term MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) but instead used the term Suggested Maximum Retail Delivered Price.
Example: 1966 Acadian Canso Sport Deluxe V8 2-Dr. Sport Coupe, list price $2764CDN + Delivery & Handling $25 + Sales Tax $240.19 = Suggested Maximum Retail Delivered Price at Factory-Oshawa was $3029.19. This however, did not include Provincial & Municipal Taxes Extra Where Applicable, making our total price about $3185.00CDN

You've been asking for a Canadian window sticker that is legible.smile

I gave you a 1970 Gorries Corvette sticker, sowhat if it is not a Beaumont or Canso window sticker; they are non-existent up this point in time as far as we know. disbelief

How about a repro for 427Carl's 1974 Nova?
What do you think about it?

Awesome Fred! I was overwhelmed when I saw that 1972 sticker!
That is only the 2nd old one I have ever seen in years.
Do you have any early 1960s Canadian window stickers that you would post?

Now I know for sure that this type Canadian sticker was used at least on 1970-1972 Corvettes and they (the 1970 &1972 stickers) are indeed both Canadian French/English window stickers. I have had long, long conversations with different parties on this matter; that is that the old 1950s-1960s English type sticker was used up to mid to late 1960s and then the Canadian French/English version was used. IMHO

I want to ask you, Fred and 427Carl if the uploaded attached jpegs enlarge ok or do the the pixels wash out and get blurry like one of the pics Carl posted above?

If they do wash out on enlargement, I can email my PhotoShop blankjpeg forms (and Carl's Nova sticker to him) to anyone who gives me their email address (pm to me for your privacy), Fred, Carl or Mr71TransAm.

Gary

the first thing the Canadian dealers did was rip the window sticker off the window. Privleged infomation you know! I believe in the US it was illegal to do this & the sticker info was availabe to the potential buyer

Yes Carl I can make some for you if you send your GM historical info to my email address:
wagers.1969@suddenlink.net

Also, I will email the 1974 Nova sticker to you at your email address at:
spoonministries@cabletv.on.ca
Is that the address you want it sent to?
I believe I could also make one for the '66 Strato Chief if I have all the GM info.
It will take a while for each one because I have to scale each line of info in PhotoShop; it is not like typing with carriage return on every line.
Give me a while for each one I do for you and I'll be glad to do it.
