1966 Pontiac Grande Parisienne -427 engine looking for the original car

I was fortunate to own a 66 Pontiac grande pariensene with an original 427 390HP in the late 80's. Like a doppy kid my desire was for the motor, not the car. In 1988, I pulled the 427 out, installed a 396 in the car and sold it to a guy who took it to Fort McMurray and have since heard the car is in Banff?

The 427 found its way into my 65 Acadian for 1 year until I got the bug for a blower. In 1989, I pulled the 427 in favor of a 454. The motor has sat disassembled in my heated shop since 1989. Since it's just taking up space and have no use for it, i thought i would check see if the owner of the car would like the motor for it, or anyone else, as I am looking to sell it. I have everything except for the original cam, oil pan, carburetor and timing chain cover. The block has been turned .020. and the crank has been turned .010. I should have mentioned I bought the car in Alberta.  I'm not sure where it originated from.

That could be the car, mine had fender skirts. I don't recall the car having those rims?

It would be too cool to see both the car and the engine reunite.
Very good for you to consider this Brent.

Does the red car fit your description otherwise, i.e. interior colour and style, paint colour etc?

BB-Acadian, as much as I would love to buy your 427 and I'm sure you are getting lots of guys wanting to buy it, and as much as it pains me to say this, do your best to get that engine back into it's original car if at all possible!

I would dearly love to buy an original 427 but it really would be just greed that would take it from it's proper home. I sure hope you find the car and the reunion can take place.

Thanks Carl,

I'm in no hurry to sell it so hopefully I find the owner. A friend pf mine thinks the fellow that has the car is in Drumheller or Hanna. If the car/owner don't show up in the next month or so, I'd prefer to sell it to someone that, at the very least, would put it back in a Pontiac.

Brent

That would go very nicely in my '66 Chief! Just curious, what is the build date?I would be willing to sell my perfectly running 468BB (with dyno sheets of course) to have that 427 in my car.Just thinking out loud that's all........

Nope he is out of jail and back to work.  I spent some time with him this summer finishing up my engine compartment detailing.

This is sending chills !  I have found the owner. Car and 427 will be one again. No kidding, I have heard of these stories before and now its happening in front of my eyes. I talked to Steven the owner and he is speechless. Brent is a cool guy as he has a line-up of people that would buy that engine but he wants it to go back to the original owner. The block according to Brent is a T02I0IJR, and the build sheet says T0210IJR. The one is definitely an I according to Brent but we have all seen screw ups like that too. I will scan the build sheet so Carl 1 believes me :)...
