A more conservative approach, with "jet smooth" lines, evident with the aircraft inspired side trim. Chevrolet changed much of the bodylines from the more wilder '59's. The new look for 1960 suited the glamorous top of the line Impala, as Chevrolet reshaped and separated the "bat wing" tail fins, and added 3 round tail lamps to the rear.
The '60 Chevy Biscayne was offered in a 4-door Sedan, 2-door Sedan and Utility Sedan.

Well, we're deep into this one already. iIt needs new inner and outer rockers, all floorpans, seatmounts and other bits throughout. It was one of those moments under the car today as I'm vacuuming most of saskatchewans topsoil out of the frame rails that I thought "what the hell am I doing??". But nonetheless.... All the welding should be done by months end, I've ended up finding a nice 283 that coded to a 59 corvette, and I've purchased all the needed conversion items to run a 700R, so hopefully next year by this time it should be back on the ground and running! The suspension has been fully removed already for sandblasting and a rebuild so I think Im too far to bail at this point. Just thought I'd give an update incase anyone cared! Oh, Happy New Year too!!
The number indicates a [9] = Powerglide trans / [V] 283 and the sequential number may be 1961 or 1962 - # 9V218857 was in car shipped in January 1962. The 348 was a 'D' instead of 'V'.

I think maybe I'll weld the rear seat in the upright position!! We're having lots of fun with it nailhead-I'll probably do a round of pics in the weeks ahead. If your ever in the area, I've got some dirt you can bring back with you!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/markkrahn/sets/72157626343526702/with/5557439712/ A couple new photos for Nailhead... not much yet but now the shiney parts start going back on. The gloss was cut by 40 % or so both to give it abit of an aged look and also because I do my own bodywork!
