Sorry for the delay

I thot I had the right numbers but after rereading your instructions i'm not sure. The numbers I found were on the water pump and the intake manifold. As wellI have included the ownership  valtag #.     Water pump# is 488296; On block is C over 72; on intake manifold is 525855;  ownership valtag is 0856838 .  Let me know if these will work or if I should look farther. Thanks for your help.    Thebro3

there should be a 2 letter stamp just over the top right water bolt ( passenger side ) this code tells you the application of that engine . my 1970 350 2 bbl is coded YU for example....

2 letter code on the passenger side in front of the block, beside the timing cover under where the head bolts on the block, you may need to clean it with a wire brush or flat screwdriver... good luck. Also if you lay under the car on the driver side and look at the front side of the engine block it will say 455... My 455 two letter code is XE hard to see 1/4" letters.

The intake casting number 525855 is for a 78 block , the water pump is a gm oem part number for the water pump , If that 72 is cast in the block by the distrib hole then it is a late 71 or early 72 block
