This car was built by friends of mine in their shop Specialty Cars . the finished pics do not do the car justice,,,, it is finished in bare metal with a clear over it to protect it. The metal work is perfect , nothing hiding the workmanship !
The summer it was finished , he drove it to Sturgis SD, all over Alberta, the next summer went to Alaska and parts in between.
It gets 27 MPG , and cruise all day long with aftermarket AC coolin your heals....
here are the pics of some of the build !

Very cool stuff Roger! I eventually want to fix some rough spots on my car and just put a clear coat over my "time-worn" paint.

those are nice wheels rabbit64cs. I seen it just before they cleared it is first time. Dean was lucky he had Aurel there to wire it up. But yeah, can't say there is filler on that car !! He has built a few one of a kind cars. I think the 64 pontiac with the hydraulics is still parked back there too. Thanks 4 the pics.
The 64 on hydraulics was sold years ago,, it shows up stateside forsale now and again..
Aurel left Specialty at the start of this one, my buddy Steve started working there when they built the Impala. He finished all the wiring, Aurel hadn't done much with it at that point.
they had to reclear it , it was flash rusting under the clear. They resprayed with ??bond, then recleared it ,,it still looks killer !

.I didn't know the 64 was gone. I remember Steve telling me about the rust after the first clear and it had to be all redone. I thought Aurel told me he did the wiring in that one, I'll have to ask him again !!!! maybe it was Arnie's old rat rod he did ?
yeah, pretty sure Aurel did the wiring on Arnies ol rat rod, he may have started on the Impala, but I know Steve finished....

Is that the heavy metal-flake black car with gold wire wheels for sale down in the States now? The seller says it's 1 of 2 cars!

Great work on the Chevy. Putting a more modern frame on the vintage body takes lots of planning. I got my grandfathers 55 Buick in 1968 and we used it as fun original car till 1991 when I replaced the frame with a 1981 full size one. Put in a 445 Olds out of a Toronado and a 350 auto. This gave me modern suspension, disk brakes and power steering. The car looked stock, but drove like a new car. The amount of planning was worth the result.

That work spreading the frame ... I wouldn't want to have to take that through inspection. I'm sure it's strong, but ... damn, that's an ugly way to do it.
Woweeee what a major league effort there. That is so impressive, that kind of work and effort on that sweet 60 Impala. Congrats on the finished effort and continued good luck with that sweet machine. Cheers. George
