I remember from years ago, they were the only good ones you could trust. ie bypass would still operate if filter plugged up.

Scroll down to 24061 and click on it. I would think many jobber stores would handle it.

Yeah, the only reason a guy would ever keep a canister is to look authentic.

That's why I like Novas so much. They never had canisters!

I just found out what 5 litres of oil looks like on my garage floor using one of those WIX adapters!  Problem is that the gasket wont seat correctly in my 1957 block.

I used the Wix unit because it uses the Chevy spin on filter while the Fram one (which I also have on another car and it does not leak) uses the Ford filter.

Wow, that's the first time I have heard of an issue with one of those. Do you mean the o'ring that goes between the adapter and the block?

About a week into owning my 67, I simply walked up to my local Carquest counter and asked for one.

They got it for me in a day, and it worked fine on my 67 small journal 327. I took the car through my local quick lube and they installed it, changed the oil, added a spin on filter.

I can remove it and send it to you for the cost of shipping if you'd like.

Have one sitting in the box in the garage. Have had it for about 4 years and never seem to get around to installing it. Which doesn't make much sense because the spin on filters are about $6 and the drop in cartridge is about $14.
