My two 63 SD projects

DSCF0001.JPGDSCF0011.JPGDSCF0018.JPGDSCF0022.JPGDSCF0028.JPGDSCF0034.JPG

Here are a couple of pics of my SD projects. I sold the Heidt's front clip before I purchased the car, which is the only reason it looks like it's being worked on. I am slowly getting to both of them. All I need is time.

The two primer spots on the drivers door are identical shapes. Got to be the same.

Is that Tom Milne's old car?

Yes it is the red rag from Manitoba.
It is Tom Milne's former car. I can imagine what Tom had in mind for this car, but I prefer them in original condition. It will be an arduous journey to restore both SD's to original.
The floor is $2200.00 nice (but not for sale). It stays that nice because I get down on my hands and knees to scrub it clean after an oil spill. Mops don't do a good enough job.

you can also look at where the oil dip stick is, if it is an original 194 it will be by the fuel pump, if someone
has swapped it out for the larger 250 (from a full size chevy) it would have been at the back of the motor
and then you sometimes find a tube drilled and welded into the deep part of the oil pan at the front.

will it have a removable 10 bolt plate on the back

Well one day i should take a closer look at things to be 100% sure.

When i lifted the rear off the ground and spun one wheel the other would spin in the same direction unlike a regular diff so I assume it's posi. Also i'm only assuming it's factory as the car seemed to not have been messed with but one never knows. I guess i should look at stamped number or tag etc. It's very rusty so i never wanted to climb underneath and get all that damn stuff in my eyes again...lol

Of course being a canadian car i could get the documentation on the original build from GM but just don't want to spend the money right now...maybe one day.

If you still have it and are parting out the car, I am interested. I need a bunch of stuff to restore mine to original.

No. I put plastic under the cars with kitty litter on top to soak up the oil.
